Brenton Hoobing

Brent was raised in a military family and moved around quite a bit during childhood.  His family landed in Mesa, AZ, in 1985, where he met his wife and started a career with AT&T.  He and his wife transferred to the Bay area in California, continuing his employment with AT&T for over 20 years.  They had two wonderful children. In 2007, Brent experienced a big shift in his life after being laid off from AT&T, which led him to his addictions.  Following a 10-year struggle, he headed back to Arizona to go into a treatment facility, where he started putting his life back together. Upon completion of treatment, he stayed with that organization as a house manager and worked his way up to the position of human resources and compliance officer. After he left the organization, he relapsed back into addiction for eight months before moving to Cottonwood. Entering into the program at Steps to Recovery Homes, he graduated and, was hired as a facilities specialist, and now holds the title of medical coordinator. Brent says of his work here, “To watch the clients grow in the program, to see where they are on day one, and to see them shift from their addictions to contributing members of society is an incredibly rewarding experience.”
