Will Lopez, a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) and Peer Support Specialist (PSS) at Konnect Wellness Center and Steps to Recovery Homes, brings both lived experience and professional dedication to his role. Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Will moved to Arizona in 2017 with hopes of starting a new, addiction-free life. However, his journey to recovery wasn’t immediate, and it wasn’t until March 14, 2023, that Will found lasting sobriety.
After several attempts at rehab, Will joined the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Steps to Recovery Homes, where he embraced the support and structure offered. Through the program’s Job Development Program, Will discovered his talent for online sales while working at the Miracles Happen Resale Store.
Following his graduation from the program, Will was offered a permanent role at the store. His hard work and commitment to recovery led him to achieve Peer Support certification after reaching one year of sobriety. Today, Will manages the resale store, trains clients in job skills, and provides peer support services, helping others navigate their own recovery journeys.
Will’s story is one of perseverance and hope, inspiring those around him to believe that recovery is possible with dedication and support.
